One of the things we love about Oliveto is how easy it is to enjoy the sea. You can walk to the beach in just a few minutes, while some of our favourite spots around Alghero are only a short drive away.
Where we go for a day by the sea
Lido di San Giovanni
5 min walk from Oliveto
The closest beach to Oliveto and the easiest choice for a spontaneous swim. Its long sandy shoreline is perfect when you simply want to grab a towel, walk to the sea and enjoy a few hours on the beach without taking the car.

Maria Pia
~10 min by car
One of Alghero’s most beautiful sandy beaches, known for its clear shallow water, white sand and pine trees behind the beach. Maria Pia is an easy choice for a relaxed day by the sea and particularly good for families.

Le Bombarde
~15 min by car
A classic Sardinian beach experience close to Alghero, with clear turquoise water, light sand and Mediterranean vegetation surrounding the bay. It is one of the beaches we recommend when you want to explore beyond the city beaches.

Go early
Popular beaches around Alghero are at their best in the morning, especially during July and August.
With children
Maria Pia is our favourite of these three for families thanks to its long sandy beach and shallow water.
Without a car
Lido di San Giovanni is the easiest option — you can simply walk there from Oliveto.
